What I Built at Vast.ai
I joined Vast.ai to build a GPU cloud marketplace from the ground up. I own the P&L, the forecast, and every function outside of engineering and product: sales, customer success, finance, HR, legal, marketing, data center operations, and partnerships.
When it was time to raise our first outside capital, I ran the process. Sourcing investors, building the pitch, running diligence, and closing the round from my own network. I brought on our board of advisors.
I stood up sales from zero, hiring a team that was profitable in their first year across enterprise and SMB. I built customer success, marketing, and partnerships alongside it. On the supply side, I built our datacenter partner program, including all legal and contractual frameworks for GPU hosts, and I manage pricing, capacity planning, and the relationships that keep compute flowing.
How I Operate
AI-Native Operations
With 46 people, we operate at roughly twice the efficiency of a typical company at our stage. I’ve deployed AI across lifecycle marketing, our ad engine, sales reporting, lead systems, supply-side ops, legal, finance, planning, and customer support. This isn’t a side project. It’s our operating model.
Full-Stack COO
I don’t delegate to functions I haven’t built. Every system at Vast, from the first sales playbook to the legal templates to the datacenter contracts, I wrote the first version myself, then hired the team to scale it. I stay close to the details because the details are where companies break.
Lean by Conviction
I believe small teams with high leverage beat large teams with low urgency. Profitability isn’t a phase. It’s a discipline. Every headcount has to earn its place, and every dollar spent should compound. That’s how you build something durable.
Before Vast
I co-founded Gnostic Labs, a gaming startup that gave me a foundational education in building from nothing. I launched a digital marketing agency, then joined Docstoc, where I led a product team building legal solutions for businesses. Docstoc was acquired by Intuit.
At Intuit, I helped launch QuickBooks Self-Employed, growing it to over 300,000 paid subscribers with an approved annual ad budget of $50M. It was an education in scaling products for a mass market and in customer-focused process.
I went on to serve as Head of Product at Orchid, a decentralized VPN built on the Ethereum blockchain, before finding my way to Vast.ai.
